THIS SEASON

THIS SEASON

From new never before seen hits like “Pressurection” to re-occurring fan favorites like “Hero kekere”, Artists both old and new are coming together for what would be the biggest comic rush-hour of the century., and here’s a list of what to expect.

MAZE RUNNER: THE DEATH CURE

1. PRESURRECTION [ OUT NOW!!! ]

Presenting the death and resurrection of the lord of all righteousness, the I am that I am, the he him that he is…Jeeeeeeeeesuuuuus Christ I can’t believe they actually pulled this off. Watch the king of Kings in the epic remake as he stars in his very own Roman Battle manga. Does this sound as funny to you as it does to me? No seriously, My guts are in my mouth right now

Avonome8

2. AVONOME:The realm within #8 [8TH APRIL]

Meet Nigeria’s personal sleeping beauty. With more voices in her head than we can actually count and flashback inputs that are almost as lengthy as her name . Expect actual plot development as she finally awakens from her 7-issue slumber. Maybe we can stop seeing her in smoke-screens now?

Ireti Bidemi #3

3. IRETI BIDEMI #3 [15th April]

Why have one lifetime when you’re the daughter of a god, watch and live in the shoes of our favorite Mythological tomboy / college student/Parkour enthusiast in the Adventures of the re-incarnation of Ireti Moremi.

Hero Kekere

4. Hero Kekere #5 [22nd April]

Watch all your favorite Comic Republic heroes and Villains as they engage in Mayhem and madness and unnecessary ”wahala” while using choice words from the famous hero kekere dictionary of naija terms

Itan #1

5. Itan #1 [1st May]

That story about these gods that may or may not live on earth and May or may not be in the actual story but hey, the goddesses are um-have long hair!! I hear one even dyed it white, or maybe she was just uh… Created that way. I mean gods are created right? Or do they just kind of “Poof” into existence?

Hero Generation #4

6. Hero Generation #4 [13th May]

Meet the Next generation of young Nigerian heroes, which has zero female inclusion but I’m sure they’re working on that. And I’m also pretty sure it has nothing to do with it being created, drawn and written by three guys but oh well, gender equality and all that jazz right?

Might Of Guardian Prime #9

7. Might Of Guardian Prime #9 [22nd May]

Watch Macho Men fight other Macho Men, in leather, Skin tight, but totally Nigerian outfits. Tour the skies with Guardian prime and learn how to defeat your enemies, by having faith in yourself…Alright Moving on.

Hero Kekere #6

8. Hero Kekere #6 …Again [27th May]

…Okay we already did this but oh well… “Watch all your favorite Comic Republic heroes and Villains as they engage in Mayhem and madness and unnecessary ”wahala” while using choice words from the famous hero kekere dictionary of naija terms”. Yes it is copy and paste Coman beat me.

Galactic Corps

9. Galactic Corps [3rd june]

Star Wars meets the Power Rangers meets the Fantastic Five in the Epic re-telling of a story we have hopefully never seen before and will hopefully blow us all into space...maybe i hope.

Scion #3

10. Scion #3 [10th june]

Ibo kwenu!!
See the life and times of and times of a particular Ibo man and watch as the plot automatically switches from the past to the future at intervals. Honestly there’s still a lotta groundwork to be laid for this story so hopefully this new issue will color a lot of ground…see what I did there? Probably not…Moving on….

Trial Of The Spear

11. Trial Of The Spear

The heart-wrenching tale of an orphaned boy who suffered from anemia and lost his dog named spear… I’m Kidding, I have no idea what this story is about, it’s Fairly new and the most we can get out of the cover is it involves a boy who’s probably the avatar and spears with artificial intelligence but hopefully I’m wrong and there’ll be a lot of input in the plot to really get us going.

Galactic Corps

12. Aje [24th June]

Magic has never been so bad at getting over a heartbreak, Meet our resident witchy princess who’s not totally Nigerian, Not totally in control of her powers and Not totally over the guy who broke her heart…Three issues ago!!! Now I say three because it was before the series even started. If this teaches us anything, it’s that you can give a Nigerian Teenager completely unbeatable ancestor-imbued badass witch powers, but you still cannot give them sense.

So that about covers the list of all to expect in the next three months, their hiccups and hope for the new writers involved. This season is going to be about discovering new content, reliving old fears, and building our severely under-developed African Mangaka society. Our boys… and girls at the republic are hooked up on coffee, power horse and every energy drink one can find on the market, Black or white. So Stay tuned as they achieve a new record in African Comic Production history

The plot thickens…
